The Aboriginal Environments Research Centre (AERC) is a centre for academic research on Indigenous cultures and environments. The AERC has gained widespread recognition from Architecture and Anthropology Departments within Australian Universities, Government agencies and Indigenous organisations, both nationally and internationally. The centre functions as a research centre, a teaching centre, an archive and engages in consultancy. Administration - • Assist Director with all aspects of office management, including organising workshops and meetings, coordinating fieldtrips and travel, formatting and editing documents and reports, maintaining photographic and literature archive, website maintenance, responding to emails, and liaising with research partners, colleagues, stakeholders and research centre guests. • Responsible for organising all aspects of interstate and international travel for the Director and colleagues to attend conferences and seminars, including flights, accommodation, vehicle hire and local transport, catering and other travel requirements. • Responsible for organising multi-day events (symposiums, workshops, book launch, retreats), including guest invitations, travel arrangements from Interstate and overseas, (flights, accommodation, local travel), catering, venue hire, photographers, etc. • Developing Powerpoint presentations for Director to present at conferences, seminars and workshops. • Graphic design and desktop publishing of reports and books, mapping, scanning, developing and digital editing of computer graphics. Research - • Desktop and field research on social and cultural issues relating to Indigenous Australians. • Fieldwork conducted in remote and urban regions of Qld and Northern Territory. • Collection of qualitative data and assistance with report writing. • Graphic design and desktop publishing of reports and books, mapping, genealogies, scanning and developing computer graphic images.
