General Manager

Jan 2021 - Oct 2021
I was responsible for overseeing the care and well-being of up to 74 residents, all of whom were at various stages of Dementia. I ensured each resident was empowered to make their own personal choices, respecting each individual’s likes and dislikes and attending to their nursing needs. Fundamentally, I ensured that residents were respected as individuals and provided with positive, person-centred care at all times. I achieved this through developing strong relationships with staff and residents' family and friends that were built on trust and openness. •Responsible for all aspects of regulatory compliance and ensuring robust reporting to outside agencies as required, which resulted in strong relationships with CIW, Safeguarding and Commissioners.•Responsible for the care and support of residents as provided by the team of nurses and care staff.•Line management of care and support staff, kitchen, maintenance, and housekeeping.•Being aware of staff well-being particularly following the trauma of working through, and continuing to work through, the COVID pandemic by undertaking regular Supervisions and having an open-door policy.•Consideration and delivery of the company budget.•Responsible for ongoing quality improvement, achieving positive feedback following inspections.•Responsible for ensuring high levels of Infection Control Prevention, introducing cleaning schedules for the domestic team, ensuring correct usage of PPE at all times and that protocol was followed diligently during an outbreak of an infectious illness. Again, positive feedback was achieved following inspections by the IPC Team.•Working with the local health board to maintain the quality and safety of resident care.•Responsible for putting together monthly staff rotas and ensuring that day to day staff levels were sufficient to maintain resident safety.•Continued to carry out many of the duties undertaken as Deputy Manager whilst recruitment was ongoing.
