The state-owned Songon Copper Project operated by National Iranian Copper Industries (NICICO) is a world class project of great magnitude and complexity. The company produces 3000 tons of 25% copper cathode annually. Process plant design, mass balances and basic engineering and PI&Ds of the company have been developed by Metso Minerals. I completed a six months internship program at Songon copper complex. • Adhering to strict Occupational Health & Safety guidelines to ensure the site is operated within safe working conditions and ensure environmental OHS legislative requirements are met. • Partnering with senior engineers in a design office, learning and using engineering tools. • Providing of evolution and the shortcoming of each project and attending the weekly meetings to share with other team members. • Monitoring and adjusting vibration, temperature and speed settings of conveyor belts via HMI systems. • Monitoring and Analysing size, texture and particle shape of rocks using Metso VisioRock software to improve feeding of the SAG Mill.
