I currently contribute to the success of the Statewide System of Support in the Divison of Innovation and Improvement. The SSoS links chronically underperforming schools and districts with resources and tools that advance the use of research-tested, data-informed, high impact practices and team-based deliberation and decision-making within a continuous improvement framework to radically transform educational experiences for students. During my tenure with the Chicago Public Schools I contributed to success of the Offices of Standards-Based Instruction, Principal Preparation and Development, and New School Creation. I was involved with the induction of the largest single cohort of new principals in the history of the district, and in the recruitment, selection, and support of their executive leadership coaches. This was a transformative period of policy change, partnership formation and design of competency-based performance instruments and processes that were used to select the best prepared leaders to accelerate the improvement of the city's schools in every neighborhood.
