Bringing new ideas to a longstanding magazine. - Steered magazine production completion back to track from the first issue I managed - it's now uploaded by the middle of the month instead of the third or fourth week. This is to better allow the magazines to reach bookstores in a timely manner. - Reorganized the magazine, worked closely with the design team to create more visually attractive and reader-friendly layouts - Streamlined the writing style to make scientific topics more accessible to the everyday person. - Prepared and submit proposals for sponsorship opportunities - Manage and deploy writers to cover side projects such as CARiNG News and New Parents - Conceptualize the thematic elements of every issue - Did I mention that I am also writing as well? Notable achievements: - When the printers closed due to the MCO in 2020, we were unable to release the April issue. Proposed deferment of that issue to May as we reevaluate our options. - Spearheaded, conceptualized, and wrote the bulk of a special, free digital COVID-19 mini-issue to fill the gap in April; this issue was completed in 1 week via the secret art of burning midnight oil, and was well-received. - Started the practice of adding 2 new website-exclusive articles a month to galvanize the digital transition of HealthToday.

To summarize, I write for HealthToday, and my Associate Editor title also puts me in the hot seat to plan/manage their sponsored special reports, I also wrote, managed, and coordinated productions of their booklets. Additionally, I also pursue leads and network with healthcare professionals, often with an eye for opportunities for the company to initiate and develop projects. I also manage and develop New Parents/HealthToday-related social media endeavours. - Revamped and revised New Parents 2019 - made it far more contemporary, fresh, and relatable to parents of today - Planned, wrote for, and developed CARiNG Pharmacy's You Can Live Well with Diabetes book (2018) - Planned, wrote for, and oversaw CARiNG News (2019-2020) - New Parents (2015, on parenting) - Caring for Your Loved Ones (2015, a booklet on elderly health and wellness; collaboration with the Malaysian Society of Geriatric Medicine) - Fit & Fabulous (2016, a booklet on women's health and wellness) I also am called occasionally to plan/write specially commissioned patient materials for clients of MIMS Medica. - Living Well with COPD (2015, booklet on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for Lung Foundation of Malaysia) - PhAMA Industry Factbook (2016) Accomplishments: - Initiated a Special Report with the University of Malaya Center for Addiction Studies (UMCAS) for HealthToday,a project worth about RM40,000 (2015) - Initiated collaboration with MSGM and conceptualized the resulting booklet, a model subsequently adopted by the Sales Team of HealthToday to increase revenue (2015) Here are some of the ones that I'm proudest of, and are under the size limit imposed by Linkedin.

Want a website? Well, I can't really design, but I provide the pulse of the website: content. I provided concepts, structures, and visions for the building of the website. With that done, I write the content. Okay, so you're a start-up company that wishes to project yourself as a far-seeing entity? Let me draft the "About Us", "Mission", and other corporate pages that make you come off as pure gold. So you need something with more "Oomph!" to give your website some added reasons for people to keep coming back. No problem, I can come up with "special" or "exclusive" content. Newsletters, e-zines, etc? No problem. I moved on because I was interested in exploring writing in a public relations environment, but the Web had been in my blood since I self-taught myself HTML and created a website in 1999. I still update and maintain that website, which gets about 3,000 visitors daily, and you can be assured that I will always love writing for the Web.
