In my current role as a Marketing Specialist, I collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy, creating captivating content with a one-week lead time and maintaining brand consistency using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and graphic design skills. I excel in engaging with our audience, managing comments, and scheduling posts. I actively support fundraising campaigns and event promotions, assist in designing Classy campaigns, and play a pivotal role in event coverage and YouTube channel management. Behind the scenes, I ensure organizational efficiency, collaborate on website optimization, gather global content, engage in event planning, and initiate influencer outreach. Monitoring metrics, maintaining brand identity, and contributing to various marketing projects are also key facets of my role, showcasing my adaptability and commitment to our organization's dynamic needs. • Undergraduate Researcher
      • Sep 2022 - May 2023

I was previously an undergraduate researcher at the Children’s Environmental Health Laboratory, under the supervision of Professor Nina Holland. We analyzed biomarkers of chronic diseases, functional genomics, and developmental epigenomics. Each week, I received biological samples from children and mothers who were occupationally exposed to pesticides in the Salinas Valley, and I performed DNA isolation on whole blood aliquots. I then quantified and analyzed the samples once they were successfully isolated. I had learned how biological samples were processed, labeled, entered into the database, and stored safely in our biorepository. By the end of my bachelor's degree, I hoped to identify and evaluate the relative contributions of individual and environmental factors associated with maternal and child health, as well as identify policy solutions for such issues. • Lactation Promotion Intern
      • Jun 2022 - Sep 2022

Through Health Career Connection, I worked at the Santa Clara County Public Health Department’s Healthy Communities Branch, specifically with the Lactation Promotion Program. The program’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of infants and families through initiatives to promote and support breastfeeding. Over 10 weeks, I developed culturally congruent educational messaging on breastfeeding for families. Hospital practices enormously impact infant-feeding success and mothers who receive in-hospital support to breastfeed exclusively, continue to do so after discharge. Hence, I collaborated with hospital staff and public health nurses to redesign lactation materials provided to all discharged parents in the county. I attended local breastfeeding events, surveying WIC recipients and members of the Black Infant Health program, on their breastfeeding journeys. I observed that racial disparities persist for breastfeeding mothers of color, due to their high labor participation rate and decreased access to prenatal and perinatal education. My experience in lactation advocacy introduced me to a multitude of post-secondary educational options as well as reaffirmed my passion for maternal and children’s health. Show less

The ZSFG Health Advocates program improves the community's experience of care by training student and community volunteers to conduct standardized social and legal needs screening with families from UCSF clinics. As a trained Health Advocate, I use resource algorithms and on-line resources to connect families with existing benefits programs (like CalFresh) or external community organizations (like food pantries and workforce development centers.) When I encounter more complex issues--like family mental health issues or complicated legal challenges—I connect families with clinical social workers and/or lawyers who can provide additional professional advice and support. Through this position, I have been trained in REDCap, Outlook, and EPIC. Show less
