Whilst working at this local wine bar/shop my duties included providing professional customer service through waitressing, preparing food and drinks, and processing transactions. The role required me to work effectively as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction and the highest company service possible. I was able to quickly learn about the various wines and products on sale so that I could successfully and confidently recommend and advise customers. I was able to improve my interpersonal and time-management skills whilst working here. I also adapted to working in a Covid-19 safe and friendly environment – this awareness I can carry forward to another job.

Whilst working at this nationwide restaurant I was able to improve my interpersonal skills through constant client interaction and produce exceptional customer service. I worked as part of an effective team, along with senior managers, resulting in a smooth running operation and successful business. The role permitted me to work under pressure and refine my time management ability. Whilst working between A levels and university, I was promoted to a manager position where I was solely in charge of overseeing the restaurant and staff, providing me with invaluable experience of increased responsibility.

Research Intern
-
Jul 2019 - Aug 2019
My primary responsibility was to research the infrastructure investment industry, current fundraisings and investors in the asset class. I worked with the Inframation team to maintain an up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of current infrastructure fundraising processes and infrastructure debt vehicles. In addition, I closely tracked fund manager’s investments across the industry in particular where project finance is involved. Over the time of my internship I became very familiar with the UK PPP infrastructure market, specifically concerning healthcare. I then went on to research the renewable energy sector- the now dominant sector for investment in the infrastructure market. I looked at financing models and the types of contracts involved in transactions. I was able to contribute to keeping Inframation’s database up-to date, which helped me develop my IT skills, as well as challenge myself in a fast-moving working environment. Having developed a passion for urban geography over the time of my degree, I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about infrastructure projects in urban areas.
