Virtual Law Work Experience

Apr 2021 - Present
The two day scheme involved a series of live lectures, confirming my ambitions to study Law at Degree Level. This was an opportunity for me to explore the inner workings of a law firm, including how a firm delivers legal services to its clients and the way in which trainee lawyers can assist as part of the team. Speakers:- At Senior partner level, including Caroline Green who highlighted the operations of different departments within Browne Jacobson.- Guest speaker Chris Daw QC described his experience as a member of two of the country’s leading specialist criminal barristers’ chambers; London’s Serjeants’ Inn and Manchester’s Lincoln House. - New recruits at Browne Jacobson discussed career paths within law and routes to landing your first job at a law firm. - I also gained an insight into the management side of a firm with advice from Declan Vaughan, leading the HR function at Browne Jacobson. - Development sessions highlighted the importance of networking and building a personal brand. - The scheme was concluded with I. Stephanie Boyce, President of The Law Society, I was able to have my questions regarding her position within the association answered during her discussion with host Tom Lyas.
