Lillie was my Resident Hall Coordinator for several years at University of Delaware. Through her leadership, I was prepared to step out into the real world and have utilized her leadership development, self-development, and career development training in every aspect of my life thus far. Within those two years, Lillie enhanced and developed my knowledge surrounding many key concepts in the workforce and life: DE&I trainings on a wide range of topics such as implicit bias, cultural competency, and intersectionality, trainings related to suicide, sexual assault, domestic violence, and emergency response, and trainings on administrative tasks and best practices, conflict resolution, team building, mediation (in both team settings and with our residents), strengthsquest/self-development, how to engage your residents and floor to create a positive and inclusive community culture for all on-campus students, and MORE. In other words, she gave me the foundation to make a positive impact in the world. On top of ongoing training, we partook in weekly 1:1s that helped aid my individual growth, and planned out my short-term and long-term goals. With that being said, as a new grad I can thank Lillie for being a huge catalyst to where I am today; working in my first full-time role with the understanding of what positive, good leadership looks like. Thank you, Lillie!
