I've studied alongside Lillian for approximately one year, during which we both transitioned from the last year of our undergraduate studies in public health to the final year of our Master of Public Health in Epidemiology. During this time, I witnessed first hand Lillian's dedication to the field of epi and her excellence in communication, organization, and going above and beyond in all that she commits to. As a former gymnast herself, Lillian has been a coach at a local gymnastics gym, Balance 180, for a majority of her time at UF. When COVID-19 hit, I saw firsthand the work that she put into creating and implementing a summer program that adhered to all relevant guidelines and that successfully kept everyone safe. In addition to this role, I've also watched her manage her time while volunteering at North Florida Regional Medical Center and with UF as a COVID-19 Vaccination Observer—all while carrying and excelling in a full load of graduate courses. In our shared classes, Lillian demonstrated her strong commitment to ensuring that every product she submitted was completed to the best of her ability and she regularly interacted with peers and professors to seek out ways that she could improve. She is deeply invested in the field of epidemiology and is constantly looking for ways to expand her knowledge base. Beyond this, Lillian is a true team player who is always willing to guide, mentor, or assist peers in any capacity that she can. Lillian would be an asset to any organization that welcomes her, and I sincerely look forward to seeing her future contributions to bettering the health of populations.
