Software Engineer Intern
-
Jun 2022 - Aug 2022
The main objective of this internship was not to just be an intern but an actual software engineer, to work hands-on on the company's core features and services. I worked on a live Java Project and contributed to developing core functionality for Twilio Frontline. In the first half of the internship, I had to familiarize myself with the company policies, values and work structure. In the second half, I got to start working on bettering the provisioning for Twilio Frontline. I performed a few pair programming sessions with a senior engineer to understand different concepts and dive deeper in the project. I also spent time on understanding the concept of message queues and how it can be used to decouple and build highly scalable services. In addition had the opportunity to participate in various seminars and trainings offered by Twilio during working hours, which were necessary for fulfilling the objectives of the internship and facilitating the duties.
