A key team member in the discovery and delineation of 690,000oz Au mineral resources including Eridanus, Shannon UG, Hill 60 and Symes Find deposits to date.Key responsibilities include: Design, execution and supervision of AC exploration programs targeting regional conceptual models and geochemical anomalies. Supervision of DD and RC open pit resource development programs. Regional geological and regolith mapping. Interrogation, integration and interpretation of open file geological,geochemical and geophysical data sets. Building reliable geological models through detailed logging, pXRF data and interpretation. Mentoring and coaching of junior geologists and field technicians. Timely and accurate monthly and annual reporting. Ensuring all activities are conducted safely and high quality standards are employed for geological data capture and QA/QC management. Liaising with landowners.

A total of 300,000 meters was drilled, with up to 27 drill rigs on site at one time, situated at the Lumwana Mining Company, in Solwezi, Zambia. Key skills required included a strong knowledge of excel, excellent organisation and time management, and the ability to recognise a problem and solve it if it is within my area of influence. My role was Perth based and required me to work 12 hour shifts on a four days on, four days off, four nights on roster. It included preparing iron ore samples for analysis; operating mills, crushers and sorting samples. Within the lab my responsibilities were accurately weighing samples and operating analysing equipment such as Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) machines and fusing beads for the X-Ray Florescence (XRF) machine.
