I worked in a team of eight developers, creating mission critical SAAS applications used in the US domestic and international mail industries. Responsibilities of my role included: Mobile Application Development – Lead developer for our mobile applications (for Windows CE/Mobile and Android). Responsible for technical design, architecture choices and mentoring other developers. API Development – Developed SOAP and REST APIs for our mobile applications. Web Development – Worked on ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC sites, developing new features. This sometimes required making changes to CSS styles and writing JavaScript. SQL Server Development – Developed stored procedures for our SQL Server databases which have a high volume of data (Some tables have over 100 Million records). I also designed table structures and developed a high performance ORM for SQL Server on Windows CE. Mentoring – Trained other developers to develop mobile applications. Showed them how to do things, gave them work to do that they would be capable of but would also teach them new skills, reviewed code and provided positive feedback as well as constructive feedback on how they could have done things better. Problem Solving – CORE sometimes got error reports from our users with very little detailed information available. I was often responsible for solving these problems as I am very good at connecting seemingly unrelated things, forming theories about the cause of the problem, getting the necessary information and testing out ideas until I could identify the problem and find a solution. Learning New Technologies – Learned to develop for Windows CE during COREs biggest project to date and had tight deadlines. I was the only developer working on the Windows CE application, and no one else had experience with Windows CE so I had to be completely self-sufficient and direct my own learning. I have also taught myself Xamarin for Android and ASP.NET MVC while at CORE.

Required skills, responsibilities and achievements included: Spam Filter – Designed and Implemented a spam filter system that effectively tackled spam and scam enquiries sent though the website. Web Development – Developed new features for the website and developed a mobile website using Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, CSS and HTML. Server Management – Used SSH to manage a Linux server. Learning New Technologies – Learned Ruby on Rails and MVC architecture while on the job and was reasonably proficient within a few weeks. Also learned to work with SVN. Communication – Worked for a non-technical manager and had to explain technical things in easy-to-understand language.
