Provided support for a number of divisions of ICF International (ICFI), a public health research company. Collaborated with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to gather surveillance data on teen pregnancy prevention initiatives, policies, curricula, and services available to target and comparison communities across the United States. Supported the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)-funded Children's Mental Health Initiative (CMHI) National Evaluation for Systems of Care by coding qualitative data from cohorts of communities with a broad array of community-based services. Cleaned data from the automated management and reporting system and performed systematic quality assessments of data collection efforts at each grantee site. Collaborated with the team responsible for compiling the 2011 Short Report to Congress. Provided assistance as needed to the Global AIDS Program by cleaning data collected as part of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Data included demographic information, mortality and morbidity rates, AIDS education and prevention efficacy, and infrastructure information. Developed ethics guidelines for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for community exposure notification programs: Explored historical and cultural factors affecting the need for and use of exposure notifications in health care settings. Surveyed academic literature from a wide variety of disciplines to determine outcomes of relevant cases, professional attitudes and standards, legal standards and relevant cases, and medical factors affecting exposure and illness dissemination. Worked with team members to produce a formal report to a diverse committee of CDC employees, including public health officers, ethics committee members, researchers, and physicians.
