Spearheaded the turnaround of a large scale project which was experiencing significant delays related to the build of a PV plant; motivated and personally led the team to ensure delivery for the commissioning of the plant occurred on August 23rd against a government incentive deadline for renewable energy production of August 24th. Designed procedure to outsource the Balance of System of any PV plant to be built in order to maximize profit reducing company’s cost by 17% Conceived, designed and established a distribution network of regional dealers and established 3 new specifically regional dealers to accentuate the company’s ability to enlarge their sphere of influence in the periphery of the country. SUNEDISON INC., MILAN, ITALY – A global renewable energy company which develops builds, owns, and operates solar power plants and wind energy plants General Manager - Italy Sep 2008 to Aug 2011 Appointed, as a senior member of the Sun Edison European Leadership Team, to establish and operationalize the Italian entity with responsibility for selecting and negotiating with EPC and O&M providers to build and manage the portfolio of projects and energy plants. Set up the HQ in Milan with a network of regional offices, started construction on an additional 6 plants in Q1 2010, eventually growing the international team from zero to 30 employees. Established and developed key relationships with institutions and government agencies and commanded negotiation talks for acquisitions in France, Germany and Italy. Directed the EU sales growth; built a qualified pipeline of $350M USD for FY2010, closed FY2010 with 123 MW interconnected to the grid which generated over $350M USD cash in-flow. Adopted the lead role in securing a flagship PV project of 72MW worth a $300M USD, which at the time was the largest project opportunity globally; achieved against a backdrop of competition from other leading companies senior developers, secured the contract and then led the process of connecting and commissioning the plant in a 9-month period. Negotiated industry leading EPC contracts to build PV plants in Italy obtaining the best value/pricing ratio for the first 10 small plants with contract values totaling $40M USD, while supervising field operations in person. Instrumental in developing, building and selling a total of approx. 220 MW in PV plants, supporting an increase in the company turnover to $500M USD annually with a net margin of approx. 15%.
