Summer School Mentor
-
Jul 2015 - Aug 2015
As a Summer School Youth Mentor, I was responsible for providing support and motivation to young people working in small groups during the Summer School activities. Each group had a mentor to assist with specific tasks during sessions in school, and the mentors would also be responsible for the group's wellbeing during out-of-school activities. As a mentor, I would ensure that the young people engaged fully with the activities and provided inspiration and motivation to those students requiring extra encouragement. The Summer Schools' main aim was to teach English as a Foreign Language, as all the students were from overseas. Furthermore, as a Summer School Mentor, I feel I helped to increase the young people’s aspirations and motivation, helped them develop enterprise skills and gain the knowledge and experience of future options and careers.
