Wrote successful small grants applications and developed short surveys to support these applications to facilitate the growth of the program in our area. During my time as a social worker I managed a case load of twelve children; four were from an Indigenous family. I had the opportunity to work in partnership with Aboriginal Family Support Services. This role included case management, child protection investigations, assessments, planning, interventions and court matters. I saw firsthand children in foster care and how this affected them, their families of origin and their foster families. Since having my own children I now see things through the lens of a mother and it has changed my world view. Show less
