As the Assistant Accounts Manager it is my responsibility to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the department, reporting to the Practice Accounts Manager. My role includes:*Overseeing the day to day running of the accounts department. This includes the support of two members of the accounts team and ensuring all tasks are completed in a precise and timely manner.*Residential and commercial property completions - ensuring statements are accurate and monies are dealt with on completion, allowing the chain to run smoothly. *Purchase ledger – overseeing the input of invoices to our system and running a monthly supplier run by BACS.*Credit control – sending weekly letters, monitoring outstanding debts and liaising with fee earners to ensure the process runs in accordance with our policy. Daily contact with clients, ensuring collections are made as quickly as possible to aid cash flow. *Daily Cashflow – completion of report and circulation to the Partners at the end of the working day, together with summary ‘snap shot’ analysis.*Preparation of and assisting with the month end management account pack, which is circulated among the Partners, HoD’s and Firms Bank.*Quarterly VAT – analysing the quarter’s transactions and submitting the VAT return to HMRC.*Dealing with staff and client queries.
