Technical Intern
-
May 2018 - May 2020
Currently, I have an internship at the Intelledox Digital Transformation Centre, part of the Service Improvement Group at ANU. My responsibilities fall into two categories, software development and business analysis. Major software projects I have been involved in are creating a real-time webservices monitoring piece of software, Jira-replacement, and a framework that allowed individuals with any level of technical knowledge to create a production ready chatbot from a Sharepoint spreadsheet. All in addition, to the BUA aspects of my role which includes devops, customizing enterprise system applications, as well as interacting with databases and different servers. On the business analysis side, there have been opportunities to create communications plans, engaging with stakeholders, testing solutions, dealing with functional specifications and analysing processes. Recently I have been involved with helping guide new employees. In addition to my primary responsibilities, I have been involved with some modelling and statistics. One project that stands out was using clustering and Natural Language Processing to group and analyse 20,000 survey responses according to a externally sourced success framework. Show less

Friday Night Party Director
-
Oct 2018 - Feb 2019
I was one of two directors who organised the whole thing. This is ANU’s annual end of orientation week party, the previous year it ran a significant loss – we finished up with a significant profit. Our idea was to change it from being a ‘music gig’ to a full out music festival with acts from 3pm to 11pm that would attract individuals not at ANU. We ended up with 3000 plus attendees and a line-up of: Hockey Dad, Middle Kids, Touch Sensitive, Sampa the Great, Kira Puru, Birdz and ANU artists. I had to control a budget of $250,000 plus. This event is listed as the highest safety risk event of the ANU calendar, consequentially we had to go through extensive Risk Safety Management with both ANU and the ACT Government. Key other components of the role were: Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Budgeting and Budget Forecasting, managing volunteers, logistics. Show less
