My responsibilities covered all Sales Ledger related activities for 12 care homes and required me to work closely with Credit Control, Customer service, home managers/administrators and colleagues in the wider finance function e.g. • Processing and production of invoices to local authority/NHS schedules• Dealing directly with private customers re: contribution fee invoices• Monitoring and updating changes in funding from Local Authorities/NHS• Allocation of money against resident’s, Local authorities, and NHS accounts • Early-stage recovery of private/contribution debt.• Mainly used in-house system (Cold Harbour) + MS Office Software Achievements:Shortly after I joined, the owners decided to sell 50% of the business. This gave me hands-on experience of the financial aspects of asset disposal and I successfully: • Reconciled the accounts of 5 of the homes being sold (turnover: £8m)• Recovered all monies due up to the point of sale (value: £67K)• Identified/processed over-payments to be refunded - or transferred to the new owners (value: £467K) • Advised stakeholders of the change in ownership and how it would affect them
