My role is to go into school mainly at lunchtime and after school and help the children to create sporting activities and to supervise and lead them in the activities, activities include football, athletics, uni-hock, basketball. I currently work with the Y4, Y5 & Y6 and I enjoy the role and enjoy working with the children. I also have to give first aid to children who get hurt and need attention. My role involves setting up and leading sporting activities for the children on their break. This includes Cricket, Football, Tennis, Parachute, and Skipping but there is flexibility as i give the children the opportunity to decide which sport we’ll concetrate on over the week. I enjoy the role and opportunity the school have given me. Working with reception to year 6, the role can be demanding but I encourage the children to help with equipment and setting up activities and this teaches them about team working and maintains control of what could be a disruptive period. Working in Sheffield schools, coaching young children from 7-11 years of age in a vary of sports which includes football, dodgeball, parkour, boxercise, hockey, tag rugby. I also coached disabled children in sports such as table tennis, boccia and goalball at the English institute of sport. I have also helped coach at EISS with the coaches there, I was working there voluntary and really enjoyed it and feel I could do more coaching in the future.
