  Working in a boarding school gives me the opportunity to connect with the boarders in a way that you wouldn't normally be able to do. For example; they've just come back to the dorms after a big weekend and we get to catch up and see how everything is going. I get to play footy and make jokes with them, so to me it doesn't feel like a job, it feels like a chance to give back to so many boys that place their trust in me while living away from home. In boarding we try to create a "home away from home" atmosphere as the boys spend the majority of the year in the dorms. To do this, I strive to engage in the lives of so many differing personalities that we find in a boarding school with boys coming from all points of the country and overseas. It's taught me the valuable lesson that there is still so much to learn about different cultures and communities. Show less

  Working in the office of M3 Architecture I was able to gauge to some extent, how an architectural office runs day to day. I assisted on projects where needed but my main focus was on modelling. I learnt a great deal from this experience and allowed me to understand more about the profession and what was needed to perform.
