Hi All, I’d like to fill you all in on some exciting news. After 21 years of time well spent, I have hung up my proverbial boots at Murphy’s. This is where I received my first opportunity for work in this country and where I undoubtedly met most of you. Nigel and I ended our time together on the best of terms, which was very important to me, and I am forever grateful to him and Liz Leeming for giving me my first job in the Upper Valley. Nigel and I ended our time together on the best of terms, which was very important to me, and I am forever grateful to him and Liz Leeming for giving me my first job in the Upper Valley. This brings me to the news: I am one of the new owners of the Canoe Club and am very excited about this opportunity. My involvement was not noted earlier in the local paper because I thought it right to have a cooling off period from my involvement at Murphy's, out of respect for Nigel and Liz. So, you won’t see me behind the bar on Thursday’s at Murphy’s anymore, but now you can see me just two doors down on South Main Street. I believe the Canoe Club can be restored to the heights it achieved in the past—when it shook up the local restaurant scene—and I look forward to being a part of that revival. We are working hard behind the curtain and good things are afoot. It has been a blast getting to know so many wonderful people at Murphy’s. From ESL classes, to learning what a martini is, to avoiding innumerable questions on Catholics and Protestants in my homeland. I’ve had so many fantastic conversations with so many great people, including some of you. All joking aside, thank you sincerely for welcoming me, putting up with me, and ultimately becoming my friends. I look forward to continuing our relationship in this lovely village we all call home, just now at 27 South Main Street. I will be manning the host station at the Canoe Club for the first time tonight, September 15. Please stop by and say hello soon! Show less Hi All, I’d like to fill you all in on some exciting news.
