Alongside my every-day role at MediaClash I'm also the community manager at Creative Bath. Some of the work involves email communications and content creation for weekly newsletters, organising creative events including business breakfasts and university liaison events, and heading the organisation at several of its events, most notably the Creative Bath Awards. To ensure all milk magazines' actions and events are given publicity whilst raising awareness and distributing promotional material to attract contributors. I organised and designed lectures to deliver to other seminars to encourage student contributions. This was incredibly valuable public speaking experience. I also helped put on a promotional launch event for the magazine at Moles in Bath, which showcased the magazine to hundreds of attendees throughout the city. This is the magazine and brand that I've created as part of my Creative Enterprise module at Bath Spa University. It's a men's mental health magazine targeted predominantly at students - the main USP being to give young individuals and writers a platform to express themselves through creativity. The reason I created Mental Magazine was to encourage more people to openly accept and deal with the important challenge of facing Mental Health by using their own talent, whether that be story writing, journalism, photography, illustration or any format they choose. As of right now, the brand is relatively small but with a concept and look that I'm incredibly proud of. It's something that I'm considering pushing or continuing on with in some form in my future endeavors. Show less

Collecting written, video and image content from speakers at the CGMS17 event and interviewing after talks. The event itself was a children's global media summit (once every four years) and brought together representatives, CEO's and heads of major companies that deal with Children's Media. Disney, BBC, Netflix, YouTube, Sesame Street and The Premier League were just some of the brands which were involved across the summit. As an interviewer, I managed to get valuable experience working as both the camera operator and questioner. It was important to prepare the interview with speaker-specific questions beforehand and to conduct myself professionally in front of some respected speakers. During the event just some of the individuals I was fortunate to interview included: Prince William (Duke of Cambridge), Andy Burnham (Major of Manchester), Tony Hall (BBC Director General), Alice Webb (Director of BBC Children's), Richard Scudamore (Premier League), Dave Coplin (The Envisioners), Tom Fletcher (Musician), Greg James (Presenter) and Jordan Stephens (Musician). Tutoring 4-15 year olds Maths, English and other core skills in a fun but engaging learning environment. The role involved working in zones of 1-6 children for hour long sessions and providing valuable help and encouragement to the children through individually-tailored learning plans. I went on to become a tutor compere in 2015, running the centre on shifts and ensuring each child is signed in and out and assigned to a tutor for their session. At the end of each child's session I had to provide brief feedback to parents on their child's progress and to provide motivation and future targets to work on. The role helped improve my customer service skills as I also had to deal with any potential queries, either from existing members or any information for potential sign-ups. I had to work on my sales techniques, promoting the Explore Learning brand to interested peoples aswell as understanding the process of signing up children for trial sessions and then possibly on to becoming full-time members. Won the Emerson Green centre's 'Tutor of the Year' for 2016, as voted for by the centre's children. Show less
