During my employment at VDF Vertical I was responsible for managing the purchasing department where my duties included acquiring competitive pricing for materials needed for fabrication, issuing purchase orders, and tracking/receiving those orders to make sure that they were up to the specified quality, and were delivered on a timely basis. I was also responsible for reviewing engineering drawings, and to determine the raw materials needed for fabrication, as well as preparing various documents for my superiors similar to my experience at Anaergia.

My main objective during my co-op with Anaergia was to help establish a computer maintenance management software at the Dufferin Organics Processing Facility being commissioned. I was required to contact multiple suppliers and manufactures of process equipment in order to collect and organize the pertinent asset information inside of the software. This information could be used to generate work orders for preventative maintenance tasks, and purchase orders for spare parts by the future operators of the facility as was needed. My tasks also included preparing various documents for my superiors, an example of which could be to construct a spreadsheet in Excel with a given set of data, or to use power point to deliver a presentation on a summary of findings.
