The mission of the Monarch Tutoring Center is to offer all undergraduate students at Methodist University the opportunity to strengthen their academic performance through the utilization of tutoring services.Peer tutors are students at Methodist University who are upperclassmen with strong performance records in specific disciplines. All peer tutors have a 3.0 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a B in their tutoring subject area. As an RA, I had to supervise and be on call for 20 residents on my floor and the whole area (around 150 students) in general. Few of the responsibilities as an RA include programming activities, attending night duty, mentoring, and acting as the bridge between residents and housing office to make sure that residents have a splendid experience.

A health care administration intern at Carolina Vision Center shadows and works closely with the Practice Manager to understand and learn about the position. The internship allows interns to have a closer look into the things a manager needs to know to run a practice successfully. The internship has been an eye-opening experience to the application of my courses at Methodist University; specifically courses on Health Care Management, Business Law, Health Care Informatics, Organizational Behavior, and Accounting Principles. Inter Faith Council (IFC) is a branch of Methodist University’s Campus Ministry. IFC aims to preserve and bring about awareness on the various faith represented on campus. IFC meets every Thursday night for an hour to discuss about several topics pertaining to faith. For example, there are talks, questions, and discussions on our believes, sacred books, stories from our faith, and general knowledge about a religion or faith. Along with fruitful discussions, we also organize different celebrations of different faiths (Rosh-Hashanah, Songkran, Holi, Eid, and Lunar New Year). These events help us to preserve and share the diversity presented at Methodist University. As the leader, we were able to shape the future of IFC and raise the bar for future leaders in promoting dialogues and interfaith exchanges. Show less

MU Rotaract Club is a student organization at Methodist University, sponsored by Fayeteville Rotary Club- District 7730. It aims to provide professional skills, while empowering the youth. As the President of the Club, I have been able to use my leadership skills to facilitate the members in organizing events on campus to bring about awareness on issues of our community. My team is very active; thus, we have been successful in organizing several events (listed below) and several other volunteer works. 1. Free Hugs Day on World Peace Day 2. Show You Care Day- Methodist University The active participation and the enthusiasm of the members have brought Rotaract to a new light on campus, boasting as one of the highest number of active members with several community engagements. I taught Science, Mathematics and Nepali to students of aged 6-8 in the Upper Kindergarten (UKG). A year of teaching experience taught me how it feels like to be a teacher. The best part was when students performed well and to realise how effective and beneficial teaching is. Apart from the school, I also taught Mathematics to monks (aged 6-19) in a monastery as a part time job. I had three classes to teach every evening for a year. The three classes (class 1,2, and 3) was a bit difficult sometimes in the sense that some of the students were of my age. Although I made it through and feel proud to have been able to make an impact on the lives of many as a teacher. Show less
