  • In collaboration with four other AmeriCorps members, DSI is a two-week digital storytelling day camp on June 15 to June 27. During the first week, youth learn introductory storytelling and technology skills including video, creative writing, photography, music production. During the second week, youth work mentors from TC metro area to create their own project that tells their stories. Their work was showcased on June 27. • Our mission is to lift underrepresented populations and make their voices heard. Target youth population is 14-19, youth of color, LGBTQA+ youth, homeless youth, differently abled youth, etc. • My work encompasses curriculum building, implementing summer programming, recruiting youth participants and mentors/volunteers, creating outreach materials, training volunteers, and connecting and establishing relationships with St. Paul organizational partners. • Though new at youth work, my studies include the "Youth Work Matters!" online course at the University of Minnesota and Ambassadors for Youth Academy at St. Paul Youth Services. • Check out our FaceBook page here: facebook.com/digitalstorytellinginitiative • End of Year report available upon request.
