Gab Baisas
Lexi is an incredibly thoughtful and intelligent person who has been a key driver of our team's fundraising initiatives at NCLR. Lexi consistently executes engagement and content strategy from beginning to end with poise and integrity. She efficiently and graciously coordinates across departments and outside of NCLR to produce campaign creative. She is someone who can get to the heart of the matter quickly, especially as she’s writing about the importance of NCLR’s sometimes heady legal work. Finally, she is seemingly endlessly adaptable, and she does not shy away from taking on new responsibilities and accompanying skills through multiple team transitions. It’s truly a pleasure to have a teammate like Lexi.
Raini Chase Vargas
Lexi is an inspiring activist and possibly the most hardworking individual I know. From the moment Lexi stepped into NCLR, I knew she would be such a powerful asset to our organization. Just like NCLR benefitted tremendously from Lexi, so will any other place lucky enough to have her. Lexi is able to influence people with her voice, writing, and personality. Her upcoming anthology, "Paradise in the Margins", is something that I had the privilege of hearing about when it was still just a concept. In just a short amount of time, Lexi has managed to make her idea a reality by fundraising, publicizing, and successfully creating a team of equally talented individuals. Lexi is a visionary, and while most people specialize in either big picture or the details, Lexi is highly skilled in both. Lexi has a way of making everyone around her feel valued. Her organizational skills are only matched by her free spirit and personality. I am so excited to watch Lexi continue to be a force to be reckoned with.

Queer Yo Mind is a public conference highlighting intellectual scholarship and activism across all disciplines and historical periods. From its inception, the conference has focused on redefining queer in an effort to empower queer communities and engage underrepresented peoples in an intellectual conversation. In 2012, the conference committee refocused its mission on bridging the gaps between community activism, empowerment, and academic scholarship and focused on queer minds and queer embodiment. The effort of the conference is to make visible the complexities and intersections of queer communities and work against the unilateral hetero-/homonormative media construction of a normative queer movement. We launched our new mission statement in the spring of 2012.
