Lewis made a hugely positive impact on our team during the challenges of operating in a pandemic. He built and nurtured strong working relationships, including right from the start when he travelled to meet each of his new direct reports for an introductory chat in their local park! He demonstrated charismatic leadership, enabled growth through piloting new ideas, and brought clarity to strategic priorities as the business scaled up. I'm very grateful for all that he did and recommend him wholeheartedly.

Lewis brought me into Generation and was really the person who sold me the concept and the mission of the organisation. I knew I wanted to be managed by this person and that I could learn and thrive under his style of leadership. Lewis has the skill of bringing clarity to disorganisation and simplicity to complexity - he can cut through the noise and coach you into focussing on the crux of a problem, drilling down until you collaboratively find the solution. He was an effective sounding board, and the kind of critical friend that promotes fast personal growth. He advocated transparency and honesty both in managerial relationships and across the wider organisation, and could be relied upon to practice what he preached. Our organisational processes and practices are much improved for his leadership and strategic guidance.

Joined a young edtech charity in a new role with funding From Blackrock, McKinsey, Verizon and Microsoft as part of a significant scale up effort in the face of the pandemic. Clarified strategy, designed processes, co-authored a playbook, built departments and scaled the team by 5x to 60 including senior hires, launching four new offices, three new countries and various brand new programmes in the process. 97% of Generation participants graduated, while 80% of those who completed a program with Generation are in long term employment within three months. 84% of employers say that Generation graduates perform better on average. During my time Generation 6x'd its overall impact (in terms of young people in to meaningful employment) while laying the foundations for future growth, with a projected 10x impact in 2022 and over 1000 long term unemployed young people into well paid work launching meaningful careers.
