Bio
James Thomas (he/him/his)
I had the pleasure of working with Lewis at his time at Harbour Hotels as general manager for the Christchurch harbour Hotel. As Interior Design manager and customer experience lead I had multiple interactions with Lewis at the Hotel including meetings, walkthroughs and workshops which were delivered to his team. I found Lewis to be a great leader, focussed, professional and thorough, making steps to enhance the customer experience and identify areas to strengthen and make positive change for his guests. Lewis has a great understanding of the relationship between interior style and the customer experience and was a huge advocate of the training workshops and walkthroughs at the Hotel he managed. Lewis is great at putting the customer at the forefront and whilst doing that ensured that the product and the team delivering this were his main focus. I look forward to crossing path's with lewis in the future and wish him further great success.

Lewis was a great manager to work for. Always willing to get stuck in and help out. A great mentor who helped with my own progression. You always knew when Lewis was at work as the whole atmosphere changed, he managed to positively motivate all the staff and give us all a good push when needed.

Myself and owner Phil while retaining many of Red Lion's original features took the Inn through a full refurbishment. The Red Lion has been sympathetically updated and decorated using vintage, country antique and quirky finds. We have three comfortable, individually furnished bedrooms, all en-suite, two dining rooms, serving Phil’s locally sourced, seasonally-changing menu of modern British dishes with French influences. There’s also a cosy, oak-beamed bar with additional dining space, a working Inglenook fireplace and flagstone floors, offering craft beers, numerous lagers and ciders and old and new world wines. Outside, an orchard garden perfect for summer dining and drink with views over neighbouring fields. Show less

On the banks of the Thames, in a picturesque Berkshire village, just 20 minutes from the M4 in Reading, The Swan at Streatley is an intimate 39 bedroom country hotel offering informal luxury and a warm welcome. While working at the Swan I was solely responsible for up to £60k per week turnover in the restaurant and guided the hotel through 2 phases of its refurbishment.
