      Teaching Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish) at KS3 and KS4 level at Uxbridge High School.First GCSE results (2017): 83% A*-C, 100% A*-D.• Teaching French and Spanish in a West London rated ‘requires improvement’ by Ofsted.• Taught all years groups of the curriculum from Year 7 through to Sixth Form, I am currently teaching both A-level Spanish and the new GCSE specification to Year 10 and Year 11.• Planned and taught the GCSE French curriculum for the academic year 2016-2017. My Year 11 class achieved 83% A*-C, up from 47% the year prior. 38% of the class were projected to pass; my interventions based on data and grit brought the results to 83%. Despite being the least experienced member of staff, this result was the highest in the department (out of 5 classes) and the second highest result in the school. This Year 11 class voted me one of the three ‘strictest teachers’ in the school.• A number of my interventions have been spread utilised throughout the department as ‘good practice’, in particular the use of Memrise extensively to improve student knowledge following poor staff retention and subsequent gaps in student knowledge.• Used data extensively to plan intervention and to guide short, medium and long term planning.
