- I was a Year 2 classroom teacher for one year and now currently in my third year as a Year 1 classroom teacher- Planning, delivering and assessing differentiated English, Mathematics and Unit Lessons to reflect the diverse learning styles and developmental abilities of the students - delivering the IB PYP to students in my class.- I strongly believe that the best teaching and learning is founded in dynamic and robust assessment. I strive to make assessment central to all that I do and use a wide range of diagnostic, formative, summative, self and peer assessment in all my lessons to make sure learning can be best adapted to fit students specific learning needs.- Integrating Mindfulness through morning meditations and breathing techniques during throughout the day to help the development and growth of students from a whole child perspective.- Setting goals that stretch and challenge pupil’s abilities - accountable for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes as well as communicating effectively with parents with regard to pupils’ achievements. Achievements:- Setting up and running the Science, Maths Strategies and Rubric working group, aimed at driving a whole school approach to science - presented numerous STEM activities and approaches to learning that have now been integrated into many units of inquiry.- Mentoring a group of Year 6 students through the PYP Exhibition. Meeting with them on a regular basis, suggesting avenues for them to inquire into, sharing resources and encouraging them to take meaningful action.- Head of the SRC. In charge of holding weekly meetings, organising, planning and implementing fund raising. Recently I initiated and coordinated a long lasting relationship with a primary school in rural Cambodia and encouraging our students to take meaningful action and make a meaningful connection to their students.- Running parent workshops on Phonics and Spelling and Constructing Understanding in Mathematics.
