During my time at Auburn, I had the opportunity to participate in several professionally sponsored studios. DeWalt Designed a palm-activated drywall screwgun to improve ergonomics and comfort, especially for long-term use. I focused heavily on the long-term health impact using poorly designed tools would cause as well as the operator efficiency improvements gained through thoughtful, ergonomic design. Broan Nutone Designed an ironing center utilizing induction to power a lightweight cordless iron. The idea behind the ironing center was to utilize induction to power the iron, similar to how some stove tops work. The control center for the ironing center would heat the iron to the optimal temperature based on the user's clothing material selection, i.e. cotton, polyester, wool, etc. Coca-Cola My teammate and I were involved with the "Give it Back" program that focused on motivating the customer to recycle their plastic bottles. We were tasked to create a modular shelving system composed entirely of recycled cardboard that would hold 2-liter bottle and feature graphics for the Give it Back program. Show less
