Bio
Jack Yates
I worked alongside Lewis at the REMT for three years. From the onset, he displayed keen communicative skills and readiness for responsibility that quickly highlighted him as a valued member of the team. His promotion to area supervisor was an obvious move and if we stayed longer, I do not doubt that he would rise up the ranks further. As an area deputy supervisor myself, I can confirm that Lewis works effectively with other management but also consistently earns the admiration of his team, a quality I also observed when we both worked in the Officer Training Corps. From experience, these qualities enable Lewis to become a key player in any given professional position.

Summer Intern

Jun 2016 - Sep 2016
While completing my 12 week summer placement, I was integrated into the Reactor Systems Group. I was set tasks at the start of my placement to complete. Most of my tasks revolved around the Gas Circulators, which I worked closely with the system engineer to complete. One of my tasks was to present information I had compiled to a group of engineers from all over the country. Sep 2012 - Jul 2016
During my time in the Army Reserve as an Officer Cadet I gained many skills. Most of the training was themed around leadership and management. I also learned a lot of key soldiering skills. In 2014 I was given the title of Junior Under Officer (JUO). It gave me the chance to further my leadership skills by giving me the responsibility of 14 new recruits. It was my job to guide them through their first year of training, to make sure they were happy and to be where they needed to be on time. Working in Marks & Spencer cafe, I learned a lot about the food industry and customer service. My main role was serving and cleaning. I was taught how to make coffee and I am now a fully trained barista. I also did some cooking in the kitchen. Front of House Security

Aug 2013 - Aug 2015
Over the course of August, I worked for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo as front of house security. My main roles were to guide the members of the public to the show, but to also make sure that the logistics ran as smooth as possible. This required me to used my communication skills intensively, whether it was face to face or on the radio. In 2015 I was promoted to supervisor, this meant I was in charge of 15 people while looking after a section of the Tattoo.
