I deal with the day to day of running an maintenance department i.e. managing a mixed maintenance team from electricain, fitters, plumbers and joiners. this can consist of organising ppm work and materials, assigning reactive jobs as and when they come in. Ordering electrical and mechanical materials/parts when required.I am also fully conversant with legionella awareness and also help manage with the estate officer all statutory work. The job role is still 'hands on' so i still get to work on all the systems within the hospital environment. At times i do work with organising work with contractors, mainly the BMS controls.i am involved in a 1 in3 on call rota where i deal with reactive calls varying from electrical to mechanical faults, here i assess if the call is deemed an emergency or if it isn't.
