The Western South Dakota Buckaroos host an annual trail ride at various ranches throughout the western part of our great state. They work to raise money for scholarship donations to the South Dakota High School Rodeo Association; helping young athletes reach their full potential in the rodeo world. It is a great group of cowboys, some of which are top hands! I am the third generation in my family to become a Buckaroo. Something I hope to pass down to my son, God willing. • Licensed Horseback Guide
      • Jun 2000 - Present

From a young age, I have been a horse wrangler and guide under Gunsel Horse Adventures. We are a commercial horseback outfit, offering pack trips in Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, and our great state of South Dakota. I worked as a wrangler for my grandfather's operation for eight years, before becoming old enough to be a licensed guide under his outfit. Guiding teaches a great respect for God's creation and all that inhabit it. I learned to take care of the land; to leave it as wild as possible, so others could enjoy it as much as I do. As a commercial guide, we deal with people from all over the world. People who have grown around horses, and others who have never seen a real horse in person. The job teaches patience, determination, adaptiveness, and humility; sometimes things don't go as planned! I have covered thousands of miles of country with a few good horses under me. Some of my fondest memories are of my time in the backcountry of Yellowstone with my grandfather. Show less

    • Building Manager & Zamboni Driver
      • Sep 2010 - Dec 2015

I was fortunate enough to land a job as a game staff member at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center my first week at college. During my time at the rink, I worked my way up to Building Manager and Zamboni driver for our Division 1 hockey team. I met a lot of great people, some of which I am still good friends with today. • Sales & Service Specialist
      • Jun 2012 - Aug 2015

Sales and service technician at Mike's Archery Center. During my three years at Mike's, I gained a vast knowledge of the archery industry, and met a lot of great people doing it. I enjoyed learning about new equipment and gear and seeing it used in the field. No better feeling than setting someone up with a new bow and hearing of their success in the woods! Along with my sales and service experience gained, I also became a proficient archer. Shooting in competitive leagues, I eventually worked my way up to the Minnesota State Archery Tournament, placing third place in my division. Show less
