Upon joining Swell Spark’s leadership team in 2018, I had the opportunity to build the entire company’s financial systems and processes from scratch to support the company’s desire to grow rapidly and responsibility. During my first year, I implemented a new software system for employee spend management, resulting in real-time budget reporting for the individual locations and top-line COGS management. I regularly collaborated with marketing and operations departments, building labor targets and establishing daily, weekly and monthly sales forecasts, in addition to long-range financial forecasts, to inform growth and capital expenditures. At Swell Spark, I'm responsible for updating the owner about anticipated performance, alongside leading conversations with banking partners for future investment. I'm also tasked with the treasury management for the entire company along with our eleven locations across eight states. As a leader for both the HR and financial function, my experience includes employee issue management, payroll processing, benefits implementation and management, creation of merit-based review cycles and tax filings, among other responsibilities. At Redemption Plus I get the honor to really dive into the traditional accounting role by preparing and completing all monthly/quarterly/year-end close functions for Redemption Plus including, but not limited to: revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, payroll, COGS, and various aspects of the income statement and balance sheet. On top of the monthly responsiblities I get to work closely with the auditor on the annual audit as well being an intricate part in creating, maintaining, and executing the annual budget. But there is far more to do at Redemption Plus than just the basic accounting functions! I also analyze inventory to agree current inventory levels with budgeted inventory levels and forecast future inventory levels. Along with analyzing and forecasting inventory levels I also analyze and forecast inventory dollars to spend in relation to dollars budgeted and dollar allocated. Lastly, I maintain records to forward forecast inventory for the purchasing department. And to round out another engaging and challenging month, I also process and record all functions of the semi-monthly payroll cycle. Duties include: maintaining payroll records, processing payroll, recording payroll in the ledger, working closely with benefits broker to administer annual benefits, as well as reconcile and prepare quarterly and annual tax filings. The best part of the Redemption Plus experience is getting to work with the people. I help various senior managers analyze their P&L, reconcile variances from budget to actual, develop strategies to solve problems, and provide input and analysis to help drive solutions. In a nut shell, I strive to be the best tool available to help make the best choice possible to help make Redemption Plus the best it can be. Show less
