Architect and implement ETL solutions to move data between 3rd parties and internal systems. Define and distribute and teach DB, DB migration, and DB access (via app) standards and best practices. Configure and manage reporting / BI solutions and setup initial reports. Setup and maintain repeatable AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and CI / CD pipelines. Model and remodel application data, migrating data to new models when necessary. Document and distribute data models as code and ERD diagrams. Identify, document, and fix app issues leading to poor data quality, including data migrations to fix the data itself. Create jobs to identify current and future data quality issues with Soda. Identify long running queries, infrastructure bottlenecks leading to poor web site performance, and optimize app, queries, tables, indexes, and DB as necessary to fix issues. Setup Datadog APM and RDS monitoring with alerts to identify potential scalability and performance issues before or as they occur. Perform DB upgrades. Define and implement data security guidelines with regard to protecting and documenting PII and PHI, to maintain compliance w/respect to HIPAA and other data privacy legislation. Write and modify app code for all levels of the stack, with a focus on backend, in Ruby and Python. Write and maintain unit tests. Show less
