I work closely with colleagues at the main campus in the Newcastle University, UK to ensure all the resources, facilities and services are accordance to the standard in the UK to support NUMed’s teaching and learning, and students’ experience.       I was appointed as one of the pioneering staff of Curtin University, Sarawak Campus in year 1999 to set up, operate and manage the Library. Since the inception of the Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia in year 1999, being a self-starter and self-directed person, I has successfully initiated the set up, selected the right staff, managed and operated the library to where it is now. My responsibilities: • established Library and Information Service as one of the core service provider to Curtin community; • built and maintained strong commitment to established and promote the library information service according to the University’s goals, visions and missions; • built and maintained strong cooperation, teamwork and trust with staff and students by actively promote the use of library resources and services by assisting academic staff in identifying, locating, acquiring, offering, and using library resources and services to support classroom instruction, be an effective liaison to schools in assigned programs and helping students by providing information literacy skills training; • organised access to wide range of collections and online resources provide for easy access via The Library website; • set priority to provide quality Customer Service and fulfilled the customer needs; • built good cooperation with the main campus Library at Curtin University , Perth Australia and other libraries within Malaysia for good understanding in term of resource sharing, exchange of ideas, inter library loans (ILL) and document delivery service; • made contributions to the library profession and engage in professional development and community service activities as appropriate. I worked closely with colleagues at the main campus in Perth Australia. In my capacity as the founding Chief Librarian of the Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia Library, I successfully established the Library as one of the core service providers to the Curtin community.
