For Company Cue I have been and still am writing blurbs and longer texts focused on music — from classical to hip-hop and everything in-between, as well as sometimes dabbling in copywriting and localization (Eng >> Rus). For Kinopoisk I'm running a podcast called "Шум и яркость" (literally "Sound and Brightness", but in Russian it's a pun on William Faulkner's "Sound and Fury") dedicated to the art of film music. For six years I've been giving lectures on the history of music in the RANEPA as well as affiliated schools and colleges. Topics included: the phenomenon of rock festivals, evolution of the concept album, the role of music in cinema, brief history of Western popular music (in 8 two-hour lectures grouped by decade — one for the 1950s, one for the 1960s and so on until the present day) and more. I authored two books based on my radio show for the publishing house "AST". The first one was published in 2019 (and has since been published again in the second updated edition after the first one was sold out), the second one came out in 2021. I've been hosting two different podcasts at Arzamas. One is called "От хора до хардкора" (literally "From the choral music to hardcore punk", but it sounds way better in Russian). It is dedicated to the history of music of select countries — the first season was done in collaboration with British Council and focused on the British music, the second season was a co-production with Goethe Institute Moscow and focused on German music. Both seasons have been running for one full year and featured music from the Mediaeval and Renaissance periods up until the 2000s and 2010s. Talks of the third season are now ongoing. The second podcast was called "Сделай погромче" ("Turn Up the Volume!"), it explained the ways of modern music to kids and teenagers. Show less

"Musical promenade" (a duller translation of wordplay-based Russian title "Хождение по звукам") used to be my weekly radio show which focused on pop and rock music, opting to cover the whole gamut from the famous stars to the obscure overlooked bands and artists. One week it could be about U2 or David Bowie, next week we featured Indonesian psych or Ethiopian Jazz.
