L'Associazione per gli Studi Giuridici sull'Immigrazione è nata nel 1990 e riunisce avvocati, docenti universitari, operatori del diritto e giuristi con uno specifico interesse professionale per le questioni giuridiche connesse all'immigrazione. Nel corso della sua esperienza quindicennale, l'Associazione ha direttamente promosso o partecipato a molteplici e qualificate attività di studio, ricerca, formazione e informazione. Dal 1999 ha iniziato la pubblicazione della rivista "Diritto Immigrazione e Cittadinanza", promossa in collaborazione con Magistratura Democratica ed edita da Franco Angeli. L'ASGI e' un'associazione senza scopo di lucro e vive grazie alle quote associative. I soci perseguono obiettivi di tutela dei diritti ed interessi dello straniero, nonché dell'apolide e del rifugiato ed hanno interesse a curare e mantenere un costante aggiornamento informativo nonché alla partecipazione al dibattito su tali tematiche attraverso la collaborazione nelle iniziative promosse dall'Associazione. Tutti i soci e le socie dell' ASGI possono partecipare alle attivita' dell’Associazione, al fine di realizzare nel miglior modo gli obiettivi stabiliti nello Statuto, impegnandosi a collaborare, nei limiti delle loro possibilità, alle iniziative e agli interventi promossi dall’Associazione.
