People Office Manager
-
1999 - 2001
Managed the people processes for Information Management & Technology Department including the staffing, advisory, college recruiting, interviewing IT consultants, and career development processes. The People Office was designed to provide business unit managers with an expert in people processes within the business unit itself. This support role centralized expertise of the people processes and allowed managers to increase productivity. Designed and delivered training for the department advisor process, facilitated the advisor forum, defined advisor competencies and developed an advisor selection process to in incorporate new advisors into the current advisor tree. The advisor process and forum was a performance management process modeled after a consulting model allowing all managers who worked with individual contributors to provide feedback on performance. Participated in cross-organizational strategy teams, and provided on-going coaching for managers and employees. Show less

Vendor Relations Manager
-
1998 - 1999
Hired to fill the new role of Vendor Relations Manager. During the time this role was created, the IM&T organization had nearly 200 information technology contractors, over 80 vendors, and very few systems in place to track or manage these personnel. It was also during this time that it became essential to have processes in place to manage relationships with contractors differently than employees. Met all vendor representatives and contractors, built relationships with vendors and acted as the on-site contact for contractor issues. Redesigned the new consultant implementation process and monitored the progress of new contractors' starts- shortening the time to productivity from one week to three days. I articulated the contractor conversion process to department managers and worked with managers and staffing to convert long-term contractors to employees. Identified consultants with key skills and intellectual capital and re-deployed them to new projects whenever possible. Worked with cross-divisional IT managers to identify and communicate contractors ineligible for hire, provided consultant training, and built relationships with vendors to receive no-cost, value-added services such as knowledge sharing and training. During a time when information technology contractors were highly sought after for Y2K work and being paid heavily inflated rates, held increases to within 6% of the previous year's rates. Show less

Core Skills Learning Coordinator and Trainer
-
1994 - 1998
During my time in Corporate Management and Employee Development, I worked with high quality internal and external training and development professionals to design and deliver a new performance management system to managers worldwide. Worked with a cross-divisional team to set strategy for the first worldwide human resources conference and managed the logistics to successfully deliver 48 presentations and showcases during the three-day conference for 350 human resource professionals. Collected and analyzed information about the core skills training curriculum and subsequently recommended changes to the curriculum. Facilitated management training programs, developed a training matrix for human resources competencies and developed a database management system for cross-divisional scientific development program. In response to increased interested in on-line learning, identified vendors and evaluated multi-media training products to include in our core curriculum. Show less
