The College faced important challenges and—with the right vision and leadership—exceptional opportunities. Due to the pandemic, we were facing our first budget deficit—ever (as were many good schools nationwide as COVID-19 played out). Our enrollment was lagging. And we needed an inspired approach to reinvigorating everyone across the campus—from faculty and staff to students. Select success stories and examples of momentum include the following highlights: • Within a very short timeframe, Champlain College was fully meeting all learning requirements and staff needs via adept remote technology—while, at the same time, ensuring health, safety, communication, and future impact of all pandemic/post-COVID decisions. • I played an instrumental role in successfully launching 7 new academic programs; Working with Deans, Program Directors, Faculty Leaders, Academic Affairs Committee), B.S. degree programs were created in: Marketing Communication, Game Business & Publishing, Interaction Design, Applied Sustainability, Game Sound Design, App Development, Education. • From approving a faculty-led Experiential Learning Institute to orchestrating significant initiatives to drive future strategic academic goals and playing a primary role in the development of Champlain's 2030 Strategic Plan, I collaborate institution-wide with dedicated stakeholders to continually optimize and refine what Champlain College does best: Deliver a uniquely distinctive and radically pragmatic model of education.

I served as Interim Dean of Students and College Consultant for Sterling College in Craftsbury, Vermont (Apr. 2019–Aug. 2019) as well as Practice Leader for the Registry (Student Affairs Leadership, Management Solutions, and Crisis Management; Jan. 2019–July 2020). I co-designed the foundation and launched the new Student Affairs Crisis Management branch with the Registry. My fiscal responsibility included a $4M budget to deliver services for a growing residential population (30% growth to 1,440 students). Committee work entailed serving on the President’s Cabinet, Diversity and Inclusion Council, Threat Assessment Team, Faculty Student Life (Chair), Retention Committee, and Women’s Empowerment Committee (Co-Chair). I also worked closely with Risk Management to develop/manage institutional policy (HEOA, Clery, Title IX, VAWA, ADA, etc.). Retention grew under my leadership (we achieved a 90%+ rate each year for summer programs). We also achieved over 90% knowledge rate for annual career outcomes survey with >93% of graduates employed and/or continuing higher education 6 months after graduation. Specific accomplishments of which I’m most proud include serving as an original and the longest-serving member of Champlain's first Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In addition, in collaboration with the President's Cabinet, we created a business case for incorporating diversity and inclusion into the 2020 Strategic Plan as one of the five institutional objectives and pillars of the plan.
