  I spent 18 months caring for my 12-year-old son Nils, a twin after he was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma cancer. He was treated in Singapore and later in the USA and cured of cancer at NUH Singapore. Tragically, the stem cell transplant he received led to complications that claimed his young life in 2014. This led to the formation of LOVE, NILS, in 2017, a charity supporting children with cancer and their families with much-needed healthcare guidance, emotional care, and social and community support that will enable them to thrive. LOVE, NILS is an IPC and 501c3 charity supporting over 200 families monthly with impactful programmes.Please give the gift of hope: https://www.lovenils.org/donateCare Coordinator Support: We fund this role in the National University Hospital of Singapore's children's cancer ward. She guides patients and their families through the healthcare system and works with the medical team to provide coordinated care for the patient. Art Therapy: We provide art kits, camps, and weekly art therapy sessions by licensed art therapists. This provides a positive outlet for the children and family to work through the trauma, express fears and engage with others. Educational Support: We provide twice weekly specialised tutoring sessions to support these children and their siblings in their homes, hospitals or online. This instils confidence and helps children stay connected. Toy Drops: We provide monthly toy drops to NUH and KKH's children's cancer wards. A toy can help a child temporarily forget the pain, enabling doctors and nurses to help the children be more open to chemotherapy. Calendar of Hope events: We provide free monthly tickets to musical concerts, plays and events with VIP backstage visits for children with cancer and their families.
