TEAMS (Together Everyone Achieves More Success) Work with first-generation students, that show promising academic outcomes but come from at-risk families. It engages the student, parents, and siblings in academic development to motivate and encourage higher education. It is a four-year program, from which the first two years focus on Essential Life Skills, such as Leadership, Communication, Team Work, Self-Esteem, Etc. The last two years focus on College Readiness, working and learning about the different educational paths after high-school, it focuses on scholarships, resume building, volunteering, and college visits. The program has a follow-up component in which a one on one visits with the graduating students is scheduled to help in the quest of higher education after high school. The program was developed for students between 7th and 12th grade, promoting family unity and collaboration. 4-H Mentoring Works with 3rd to 5th-grade students promoting a strong bounding between adults/youth and students of those grades. In both programs, I am responsible for coordinating sessions with student and applying curriculum. I also help build relationships with partners to bring the most up-to-date experiences to youth and families. Some of these partnerships include the Local Public Library and the Local Community College. I also coordinate college visits and family nights.
