- Ensuring negotiating advice on WTO negotiations and regional negotiations to LIDCs (Low Income Developing Countries, classified by the IMF) and their groups (ASEAN LDCs, WAEMU). The activities, conducted in English and French, include support in negotiations, occasional drafting of negotiations reports, background analysis, elaborating negotiating strategies and proposals; preparing conference and briefing materials as well as interventions; capacity building; liaising with varied stakeholders, including in the national capitals; - Providing policy, legal and negotiating advice and capacity building in the process of accession to the WTO; - Assisting a recently acceded LDC government in its first WTO TPRM Process; - Providing regular updates to the developing countries – members of the International Organization of the Francophonie on the developments in the WTO JSI on E-commerce (newsletters, cluster reports, policy advice); - Managing projects: see the projects listed below; and - Conducting promotion activities, including drafting project concepts and proposals for the potential donors and beneficiaries, developing project ideas, relations with donors, IOs, other technical assistance providers. List of projects: - Interim urgent support to the French-speaking developing countries within the framework of the Joint Statement on Electronic Commerce; - Adapting the Negotiations Strategy of LIDCs to the New Situation in Multilateral, Regional and Bilateral Negotiations by Providing Support in the Agriculture, Fisheries and E-Commerce (with a special emphasis on ASEAN LDCs (Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar) and selected African LIDCs (more details); - Support to Cambodia in the LDC coordination Role (including the extension to the project fully devoted to e-commerce); - WTO Trade Policy Review of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
