Director of Spatial Planning and Environmental Issues
-
Apr 2013 - Feb 2018
As a Director I was responsable for creating the right spatial and environmental space for the port. This implicated negotiating and working with surrounding governments, in order to change (enlarge) environmental space for the port. Purpose was to create an appealing entrepreneurial climate for our port companies. We also worked with our companies on reducing their environmental impact, stimulating innovations. My team focused on facilitating and accelerating a transition from fossil to renewable energy, from linear to circular economy. My team created the spatial and environmental space needed for this new economy. I managed a small team professionals who worked independently on their projects. My work was mostly on directional and governmental level. I negotiated with eldermen and high level civil servants about physical and environmental space en logistic connectivity. With our companies located in the port I discussed their mid and long term development, in order to be able to create new conditions in time.We seeked a cooperative style of working. creating networks with our external partners in order to achieve shared goals. I worked with the city of Amsterdam, Province, Prorail and Ministries as well as with knowledge centers and businesses.I had budget responsability. I reported directly to the board (CFO / CEO).
