Developed, implemented, and facilitated two STD/HIV awareness and substance abuse programs: UNITY PROGRAM and The Correctional Outreach Program. The Unity Program targeted African American families and focused on education and communication, while the Correctional Outreach Program targeted incarcerated men and correlated lifestyle behaviors with the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. •The Unity Program: over a two-year period, educated 500 African American families on HIV and substance abuse and reduced the prevalence of HIV by 10%.•The Correctional Outreach Program: over a 6 month period, educated over 350 males in the Atlanta City Jail on HIV, STD’s, and other diseases, such as prostate and testicular cancer, which are prevalent among men.•Organized the 2002 National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day for the City of Atlanta. Reached 700 African Americans through education, street outreach, health fairs, and personal experience panels. •Presenter and instructor at the Southeast Regional Gay Men’s Health Summit. Presented to over 200 attendees on pertinent health issues pertaining to fostering a greater sense of well-being and health awareness among gay men.•Presenter at the 2001 National HIV Prevention Conference and the 2002 American Public Health Conference.
