  For the past 3 years I have been the music tutor at DV8 Sussex Bexhill and in that time I have assisted and spearheaded a programme of improvement within the music department. In this time I have completely redesigned the creative spaces in the music department to suit the needs of the learners. I truly believe that building positive relationships with learners is important to supporting their continued progression and helping them develop the skills necessary to thrive in the working world. As the Academic Music Tutor I am responsible for planning an engaging and well sequenced curriculum within a small music team. I have delivered units with in composition, practice and performance as well as support facilitation of various music technology and music business projects. As an Academic Tutor I am responsible for my learners regarding pastoral support, delivering tutorials, PSD and Work Experience. Whilst at Dv8 I have actively engaged with 3 OFSTED visits, I have been subject to 2 deep dive inspections and attended various meetings with various inspectors at the senior management teams request.   I have been a prominent member of the band Dirt Royal since 2012, in that time we have released several singles and eps independently and are currently working with Time For Action records and have released two albums on the label and embarked on a sold out tour of Germany. During my time in the band we have toured the UK and Europe and supported various acts at sold out shows.   Whilst at ESCG I have taught a range of ages from 14 to 19 across both level 2 and 3. Within my placement I have developed my teaching practice, with a focus on creating a positive learning environment to nurture creativity and student-centered learning and development, I have been developing my use of formative assessment and feedback to aid self-directed learning within the classroom. This aspect of my practice has allowed me to develop learners of all levels some with SEN and other who regularly achieve the highest results. During my time at ESCG I have developed strong relationships with both my learners and my colleagues alike. My relationships with my students and its use to motivate learning is something that I have been praised on during my formal teaching observations as well as my in-depth subject knowledge.   Within my role at Sainsbury’s I was responsible for the day to day trading of the shop floor. I am 100% accountable for the store when on shift.
