  Primarily working as a Field Engineer onboard Normand Clipper, was varied, challenging and exciting. My role as the F.E. was to be focal point for all technical issues relating to O.I.’s work scopes, ensuring a smooth transition from onshore engineering to offshore. This included writing of Task Plans/Procedures, completing offshore scopes of work, ensuring good communication flow from onshore to the vessel and vice versa. commissioning of a 90Te VLS, 1500Te Carousel and 2off ROV Systems (Magnum and Millennium Class) being integrated onto the vessel, being specifically tasked to engineer all heavy lifts with a heavy lift vessel or vessel crane. During this time I was involved in multiple flex lay and multiple riser installations (pliant and reverse pliant) utilizing HLS and VLS spreads , template, cover, spool, static umbilical, flowline and jumper installations, suction can, multiple subsea tie-ins (ROVCON, AKER RTS and ICARUS), various survey campaigns, RFO operations, IMR, rock removal, dredging and acoustic coring campaigns.

  My role as a Lead/Senior Project Engineer in Subsea 7 was to plan and execute scopes of work, primarily for offshore. My project work to included numerous subsea installations specializing in diving and ROV operations, flex lay, riser installation, heavy construction and offshore platform operations. Areas which were required as standard was project coordination and follow-up, selection of subsea installation equipment, conducting risk assessments, presenting HAZOP/HIRA’s, writing procedures, excellent knowledge of rigging and subsea installation practices. I was involved in many tenders and projects in this time. I was also a Client Rep for a number of trips on the Grand Canyon. Projects include Vigdis Spool and Cover Installation, Visund Future Risers, Snorre B Riser Installation, Valhall Rigid Riser Installation, Valhall Gas Flanks, Ula Platform Subsea Clamps Installation, Ormen Lange Tripod Installation, BP Valhall Conductor Guide Retrofit, Hess South Arne Towhead Bundle Installation. My lead role while working for Subsea 7, was for the diving scope in Hess South Arne Towhead Bundle Installation, which comprised of 18 spools, 8 diver assisted pull-ins, 2 umbilical connections and concrete mattress installation. I was also employed as the Field Engineer onboard Seven Pelican and Toisa Perseus for short periods.
